A+ 
(Or BTF content) is displayed below the fold in the “From the Manufacturer” section of the Amazon Product Detail Page.

AMZ
Short for Amazon.

Andon Cord
An Andon Cord is when an Amazon support agent pulls a product from buyable status if they notice a significant issue, especially related to safety and quality. By answering customer's questions through content, the issue can be resolved.

ASIN
Amazon Standard Info Number. Each Amazon product will have a unique 10-character alphanumeric unique identifier that is used specifically for and within Amazon. ASINs can be further broken down into parent and child ASINs for products that have one overall item or style (the parent) with multiple choices when it comes to colour, size, pack size, etc. (the child).

ATF
Content that is displayed above the fold: Title, Base Copy and images.

AVC
Amazon Vendor Central is an online platform that allows businesses to sell their products to Amazon. It is also the portal that we use to submit any content updates. 

AVS
Amazon Vendor Sales, the Amazon Account Canager.

Atlas
Atlas is the Digitial Asset Management software for Sistema.

BrandBank
An external product content database that we use to syndicate our content to certain retailers outside of Amazon.

Brand Store
Stores help to build brand awareness by showcasing our brands and product catalogue in a branded online store.

Brand Stories
Brand Stories sit between product description and A+ content of the Amazon Product Detail Page. They introduce the Brand to the consumer and highlight specific products or product categories.

CGP
Category Growth Pillars are the categories we are looking to grow within a market, as dictated by the wider business.

CIQ
The Commerce IQ platform provides data insights on the overall performance of the business acccording to a number of different metrics. Amongst its tools is the Content Scorecard.

CLP
The Classification, Labelling and Packaging (CLP) Regulation covers hazardous chemicals sold to consumers such as candles and some of our writing products (glue). 

CMD
The Communication Design team.
 

D

DASH
DASH (Digital Asset Storage House) is the digital asset management system of record for Newell Brands. It is our main source for discovering product images, manuals and packaging files.

Digital Shelf
The digital shelf refers to anywhere customers can view or buy your products online. It is a combination of search results, ads, product pages, social media accounts, mobile apps, and third-party sites. Basically, the digital shelf is everywhere your product can be found through a screen.

Dropbox
Dropbox is the cloud storage solution we use to save and share assets.

DSP
A Demand-Side Platform within Amazon that allows you to programmatically buy ads to reach new and existing audiences on and off Amazon. We are occasionally asked to create banners and edit videos for DSP campaigns.

DTC
Direct To Consumer is when a brand or manufacturer sells its own products to its end consumers. The DTC retail model involves selling products without the help of third-party retailers or wholesalers like Amazon. Occasionally we are asked to support the Home Fragrance DTC team.

Europe, Middle East, and Africa. We are currently focusing on creating content for Europe only.

IDQ
The Amazon Item Data Quality (or IDQ) Score is a way of measuring the quality and quantity of information given to consumers about a product. It is derived from the detail page of your product. It flags missing and insufficient content.

LATAM
Latin America. For some brands, e.g. Oster, it's worth reaching out to the LATAM CMD Team in case they have already worked on creative.

Miro
Miro is a visual whiteboard used to collaborate on Content and Design mock-ups.
 

N

NIS 
New Item Set-up. Submitting a new product to AVC and setting up an ASIN.

NPD
New Product Development is the process of taking a product or service from conception to market. We commonly refer to any new products launching on Amazon as NPD.

 

P

PCOGS
Product Cost of Goods Sold. Derived from Shipped Units multiplied by Cost Price.
 

PDP
Product Detail Page.

PIM
Product Information Management. We are using PIM primarily to pull information for Home Fragrance products. 
 

Product Bible
Usually refers to a file that contains information about all active SKUs within a business segment. 

 

Pure Play
Refers to a business that focuses only on one channel or line of business. In the context of ecommerce, Pure Play retailers are those that only sell online, and that don't have any brick-and-mortar storefronts. Prominent examples include Amazon, Ocado and Bol.
 

R

Retail.com
Refers to any retailer with both an online and brick-and-mortar presence. Prominent examples include Tesco and Walmart.

S

Salsify
The Salsify database is a content management system that serves as the source of truth for our product data and assets. This data is used to power eCommerce, marketplaces and other digital channels.

SBV
Sponsored Brand Videos are 6 – 45 second clips that can be placed on the Amazon Search Results Page or on a Product Detail Page as a type of Sponsored Brand campaign. SBVs consist of the advertised product and a video that links to the product page or to the brand's Amazon store.

SDS
Safety Data Sheets provide crucial information about the fragrance oils used in production. They outline the ingredients, potential hazards, flash point, first aid measures, safe storage practices and more. 

SKU
A Stock Keeping Unit is a unique identifier for a product, typically assigned by a retailer or manufacturer.

Sponsored Brand Ad
Sponsored Brands are customisable ads that feature brand logo, a custom headline and multiple products. These ads appear in prominent places within shopping results and on Product Detail Pages, which helps drive discovery of the brand among consumers shopping for similar products.

V

Variations
(Or Parent-Child Relationships) are different product options available for sale under one listing. These products will have similarities, but different attributes in terms of size, color, style etc., for example candles can be variated by size and by fragrance. Variations play a crucial role in the discoverability of a product. 

W

Workfront
Workfront is an Adobe-owned project management platform. Any content request, big or small, should be tracked via WF.
